Navsari

Navsari has a special place among all districts. Separated from the old Val- sad district, Navsari district has got Navsari, Jalalpor, Gandevi, Chikhali and Vansada tahesil. In the neighbor districts Valsad and Dang as tribal region. Jalalpor, Vansi, Borsi, Ubharat has coastline and is full of forest. Navasari,Gandevi, Bilimora, Chikhali and Kharegam are developing towns. In this dist- rict Anavil, Patidar, Kodi, Muslim and Tribal farmers are there and in tribal Kunkana, Varli, Bhil, Vitodia, Dhodia, Vansfod and Hadpati communities are populated. Though main language is Gujarat, there are many other local languages is being used in these communities. Espe- cially in forest area and they also follow different religion and worship nature. Stone (Patthariya Dev), Hills (Dungariya Dev), Tiger (Vaagh Dev-Devi), Snake (Saamp), Tree (Vriksh) etc are natural things these tribal worship. Living in the vicinity of nature, these people live their life happily, they have their own festivals, celebrations and ritual a ctivities and on such occasions they play their different musical ins- truments such as Tarpur, Dhol, Sharnai, Manjira etc and they dance. On the occasion of marriage they on the south Surat district has developed. Connected to the National Highway and the railway line bet- play special band called Margha Band.
